Info to cancel payment for an offer

Good morning, I’m writing regarding the cancellation of an offer I made (purchase proposal) to a seller, which he accepted, but later I decided not to buy the item anymore and eBay won’t let me cancel the transaction because maybe too much time has passed, so it tells me to contact the seller and resolve it this way
I contacted the seller, who told me that there’s no problem but he doesn’t know how to cancel the order that I accepted and that now I no longer intend to buy …. Does he need to do something? How can I help him? Thanks
