VAT information
Summary: The discussion was started by collectorbayshop with a subject regarding VAT information, but it contains no details in the content, since all posts are marked as 'None.'
Hello everyone, I closed my sole proprietorship a few days ago. while waiting to open a new one because I had to make some changes, in the meantime eBay sent me a message saying I have 14 days to provide my VAT number details (I'm not sure I'll have them that soon).
If I don't provide them they told me they will suspend or limit my selling activities. Has this ever happened to anyone? Can I enter them later?
I'm attaching the message
eBay is required to request the VAT number from professional sellers as proof of their VAT registration. Based on our information, your business is registered in the EU and you carry out intra-EU cross-border sales of over 10,000 Euros per year. You sell goods to private individuals residing in the EU, shipping them from another EU country.
Since your intra-EU cross-border sales exceed the annual threshold of EUR 10,000, we need your national VAT number and confirmation that you are declaring and paying VAT through One-Stop-Shop (OSS) or your intra-EU VAT number, valid for every EU country to which you ship. In accordance with current VAT regulations, eBay is required to compare your data with that held by the tax authorities.
We need your cooperation because you have not registered on your eBay account an intra-EU VAT number, valid for every EU country to which you ship, or your data does not match the data registered with the tax authorities, or you have not confirmed that you use OSS.
We sent you this email because of a recent sale with a shipping address in the following country: Austria
Update the VAT number on your eBay account and/or confirm that you are using OSS here:

one arrived for me for every EU country, can you help me??

Mentore1 year agoHello,
eBay is probably asking you for it because you never entered it... not even the one you say you closed...
If you don't communicate it within the required time, eBay can not only restrict you but also suspend you permanently, and you won't be able to open other accounts in your name.
So, given that opening a VAT number with the related registration at the Chamber of Commerce is very quick, I'd say do it as soon as possible.
Best regards.

OP1 year agoHello, thanks for the reply.
I had entered it correctly and used it for several years. Do you think there could be any problems if I enter it a few days late?
