The madness of people who have no idea how an e-commerce platform works

I’m honestly astonished; I almost never sell on eBay, but today something happened to me that had never happened before: I listed a used mouse for sale, and a user repeatedly asked me if I could send him an offer with a €2 discount; he was extremely insistent, and I never agreed. Partly out of laziness, partly because I thought the price was fair, I never changed the listing. The fact is that a few days ago the same buyer made an offer, won the mouse in question, but in fact after 2 days he still hadn’t gotten in touch; given how extremely insistent he had been a few days earlier, it seemed strange to me, so I wrote to him asking when he would pay for the mouse; no reply. Today I wrote to him again saying that if I didn’t get a response I would have to report everything to eBay, and he wrote back to me verbatim:
"after all the times I wrote to you, you complain even if I don’t take it? sorry, but I found something better…." "
now, this seems so absurd to me that I don’t even know exactly how to deal with a person who probably can’t even read (the rules at the end of the subscription? those unknowns) I’m asking you: of course I’ll report this to eBay, but why are there no consequences of ANY kind for users like this who totally don’t give a damn about the platform’s rules? It was a €20 mouse, I’m certainly not bothered by the missed money, but rather by being taken for a ride by a (probably) kid who has no idea at all how things work and that eBay allows people like that to interact on its platform. People like this should be BANNED because they have no idea how the platform works. It’s absurd that the seller can be pursued while the buyer absolutely can’t. It’s fine to change your mind, but in this case it’s both total ignorance of the rules and spite toward me for not offering him a discount.

Mentore1 year agoThe buyer who does not follow the rules is prosecuted in the same way as the seller.
Even the seller who cancels the order is not banned at the first selling defect.
So wait 4 days from the order and, if you still have not been paid, cancel the order for non-paying buyer.

The non-paying report is a sort of warning; the first one has no effect, but starting from the second they will have increasing difficulty buying on eBay.
