Additional buyer protection paid by buyers but only for private sellers
Good evening, I’m a private seller, an old comic book collector, and I’m trying to sell the material that no longer interests me. Since September 1st, the amount of all my listings has been increased because of the addition of buyer protection. Apparently this new fee doesn’t fall on the seller, but in reality it reduces the competitiveness of listings compared to professional sellers, for whom nothing has changed. All this will further decrease sales volume unless I absorb this cost by lowering prices. I understand that for a professional seller, activity on eBay should be more protected since for them it is often the main job, but still it leaves a bitter taste, and I see this change as a push to become a professional seller (which would make no sense for me) or to look elsewhere.
