Hello, I am a private seller. Last week I sold a rather expensive vintage blown-glass chandelier in France. The buyer failed to show up for the courier twice; I warned him about it and today he picked it up at the post office. The package was perfect, but inside the chandelier was broken in a decidedly strange way, I must say.To be clear, the packaging was absolutely adequate to the guidelines and to the intelligence of a seller who is private yes, but experienced, and I shipped with Poste Italiane with insured shipping.According to what appears on Packlink, the buyer reported the problem at the time of pickup (however, he did not mention this to me) and then wrote to me, making me understand that, given the condition of the packaging, which was so perfect, I was the one who had sent him a destroyed item. Despite my nerves, I immediately refunded him through Ebay; he thanked me very much and everything seemed finished there.After two hours, however, I received a message from Ebay saying that he had opened a dispute. I wrote to him saying that it made no sense, since I had already issued the refund and he even had proof of it. He reassured me, saying that he had done it on PayPal and that he will withdraw it.Ebay customer support is not replying to me, and I have many doubts about the buyer. What do you think, is he trying it on or did he just want to protect himself further, not trusting either me or Ebay? It is worth 220 euros...
