The absurdity of the blocked funds

I'm not an active seller, but I have 26 positive feedback ratings. I'm selling an item at auction, sold on December 1, shipped right away, delivered yesterday, and the buyer immediately left positive feedback confirming that everything is fine. So what is the point of holding my funds for 22 days (I'll get them on January 2)?
if the fund hold is supposed to check that the buyer hasn't had any problems, why keep my money while the buyer enjoys the item and has already confirmed on EBay that everything went well? What else does EBay need to check to justify this long delay? I honestly think it's right on the edge of legality. I could understand if I hadn't even received a confirmation feedback, but everything is recorded as “delivered, positive feedback received”. It's not fair and support obviously wasn't any help. Now I understand why sales on EBay have dropped dramatically; between holds, taxes, etc., it's become a nightmare to sell here. Has anyone managed to solve situations like mine?

Mentore8 months agoThe seller's responsibility does not end with the delivery of the goods.
Even after giving you positive feedback, the buyer has 30 days to open a return and refund request on ebay or on paypal and even has a year to do so through their credit card.
So as an occasional seller you have to stick to the rules (and their subsequent changes), the ones you declared you knew when you started selling.
