Book shipped but immediately asking me to return it
Good morning everyone, this morning I’m shipping, as requested by the seller, a book. As soon as he receives the shipping tracking, he “discovers” that part of the cover is missing, CLEARLY VISIBLE IN THE PHOTO.
The package has not even arrived at its destination yet, but he is already asking for a return.
How should I handle this?.
I would be against it just because in the listing I put 3 photos, 1 of which clearly SHOWS that a piece of the cover is missing.
thanks for the clarification.

OP2 years agoThanks Mario, but the photographic documentation is clear, I don't understand why I should now accept the return request. How would Ebay possibly assess a dispute like this?

Mario has already been clear: if he opens a return request for an item not as described and you dispute it, you lose both the money and the item.
Kind regards.

Mentore2 years agoGranted, you are the seller.
The advice I could give you is to agree to accept the return because they changed their mind.
The buyer should return the volume at their own expense and you should refund them in full, covering the outbound shipping costs out of your own pocket.
It is true that as a private individual you could refuse it, but by doing so you would leave yourself open to a possible pretextual return request for a non-conforming item, which you could not oppose and which would also oblige you to pay the return shipping costs.
