Failed delivery due to incorrect address
hello,
I bought an item in Hungary but from the post office website and the related contact with their customer service, I can see that the package will not be delivered and in fact is going back, since it seems that the seller wrote the address incorrectly. I can't get in touch with eBay because it isn't possible to open a dispute for another twenty days.... even though I already know that the item I purchased will never reach me. how should I proceed?

Mentore2 years agoAsk the seller to cooperate, have them send you a copy of their shipping receipt (or the waybill).
There are two possible cases:
1. the shipping code or address is different from the one specified on ebay, so the mistake is the seller’s and you can ask for a refund through ebay.
2. the code matches the one on ebay and the address is the one you registered on your account, so this is not the seller’s mistake and you won’t be able to ask for a refund (a courier certifies that a package with that code could not be delivered because of an incorrect address). You’ll have to sort it out with the courier to find out whether it’s your responsibility or theirs. To have the item resent to you (and it remains yours) you’ll have to pay for a new shipment.
