Material not returned
Good evening, I made a sale with the old mandatory return. For 1 month the customer has no longer responded to my messages, how can I do to get the item back?

Mentore3 years agoGood evening,
first of all, you're a private individual... so what obligation are you talking about?
Also, if you don't arrange the pickup, I really don't think the buyer will waste time and money to ship you the “old” one!
So, a piece of frank advice, since your business “refurbishes,” it's better to switch to a professional account and enter your VAT number!
Kind regards.

Mentore3 years agoSika, you don't understand the kind of return they mean. In fact, this shows that the listing is anything but clear.
For the kind of service they provide, they can only be a professional; the legal risk of doing it as a private individual would be huge (in the event of an accident). They just chose the wrong type of account.

Mentore3 years agoNo, no... I understood very well... the classic spare part sold refurbished with the "mandatory" return of the used one... a practice that on eBay cannot exist at the buyer's expense... for obvious logistical reasons... especially from a private seller!
There are people who do this for a living, "professionally": before selling you their already refurbished one, they arrange the pickup at their own expense and then send you the refurbished one or refurbish your own... pointless then to write "If the RETURN is not sent back, it is necessary to pay a DEPOSIT PENALTY in an amount varying based on the size of the product in question. INDICATIVE AMOUNT OF 150€"!
Let's say that beyond the wrong account, he also got the sales approach completely wrong... "VAT NOT INCLUDED IN THE SALE PRICE The invoice must be requested at the time of purchase and 22% VAT must be added"... good job... from a private seller!
Best regards.

Mentore3 years agoMany overhaul shops, especially German ones and especially for injection systems, do this normally (even on ebay). They ask for a deposit via paypal and ask for it in advance; if they don't receive it, they cancel the sale. They only refund it after receiving the return.
As for the private account being used by a professional, I can't help but agree with you, but he'd have to be crazy to sell under the table on a site where all payments are traceable.

Mentore3 years agoYou said it right... you pay the deposit FIRST... then send the overhauled part... that's the most correct procedure.
Unfortunately there are plenty of crazy people... in fact too many...
Best regards.

Mentore3 years agoYou should report him for embezzlement, but I don’t know if it’s worth it.
In your listings, the concept of mandatory return isn’t very clear. In these cases, the revised (exchange) item should be shipped only after the deposit has been received (to a PayPal account or by bank transfer) for the return of the old one. The deposit is refunded when the return is received. However, everything needs to be explained clearly in the listing.
