DEFECTIVE MEMORY NO WARRANTY NO BUYER PROTECTION
Summary: patrix974 shared their experience with purchasing Sony memory cards from a vendor on eBay, which turned out to be defective. None of the 15 cards worked, but cards of another brand functioned perfectly. The vendor refused a return due to expired terms and suggested contacting Sony, who then redirected them back to the vendor. patrix974 attempted to process a return through eBay but faced obstacles and is now awaiting an appeal result. They questioned the lack of warranty and consumer protection on eBay, expressing dissatisfaction with the platform.
Good morning, I'm explaining to you what happened and you tell me whether the seller's behavior and eBay's behavior are correct.
In May I bought these Sony memory cards, Sd Memory Card Support 4K High Speed 256gb, from the seller
I start installing the simple microsd cards as specified, universal compatibility in Dahua and Imou cameras
DAHUA AND IMOU we are talking about top-range products with full compatibility with microsd.
Out of 15, NONE of them works! As soon as you access the camera, nothing is displayed! Unreadable, unusable footage.
Installing a pair from another brand, everything works perfectly.
I have made up my mind about those memory cards, but I don't want to say it.
I contact the seller, who tells me that the return period has expired and that I have to contact Sony!
I contact Sony, who replies that they cannot give a warranty and that I should contact the person who supplied them to me.
At this point I contact him again and he tells me to try opening the return on eBay.
I do it, complete the procedure and send the product back.
Once it arrived, they replied that a dispute had been opened and they cannot refund me. Obviously I appeal and I'm waiting.
Now, is it normal not to have a warranty on a new product? Is it normal for 15 out of 15 to be faulty?
What does eBay protect against? How are you supposed to do it to assert your rights?
This would never have happened on Amazon. If they don't solve this, I will never buy from eBay again and I advise everyone to avoid it
because in the end they don't offer any protection.

Mentore2 weeks agoYou opened the dispute, and if the seller doesn’t refund you within the expected time and you followed eBay’s procedure, entering the return shipping code, eBay will refund you with the seller’s money.
It’s strange that, after so many years on eBay, you don’t know how it works.
