Can you tell me if this is a scam? (I think it is, anyway)
Hi everyone,
I put a brand new iPhone up for sale on Ebay, and after exchanging a few messages with a potential buyer, they confirm that they want to buy the product by bank transfer (and right there it already seemed a bit off to me) and then I send them the payment details.
A few hours later, I get an email from a bank in English (apparently a valid domain) telling me that a payment has been made, but that this incoming payment is blocked until I send confirmation that the product has been shipped.
My product is still for sale and the buyer has not purchased it, and the whole thing seems very suspicious to me, in fact I'm convinced it is, but since I have never come across a scam like this, it left me with a small doubt

OP3 years agoHi guys.
Thanks a lot. The scam was actually pretty obvious, but honestly I’d never dealt with this modus operandi before.
As for payments by bank transfer, I had read that they could be done, but looking back only a fool would give up eBay’s guarantees.
Have a nice day

Mentore3 years agoThis is one of the variants of a type of scam that has been widespread for years, the Nigerian scam.
Start from these assumptions:
So put him on the blacklist and keep selling.
