I’m still getting this message in red after a sale ..the money is already in the balance but I don’t know whether to go ahead with shipping if I then can’t transfer it to my bank account ...I had contacted eBay and they told me I could link a prepaid card with a bank IBAN even without a bank current account, it just had to be linked to an account like PayPal, which I did..I entered the card details and bank IBAN ..after several attempts I updated it by entering the holder code and bank PIN as requested but I’d like to be sure everything is okay because in fact my card is linked to a PayPal account and not to the bank one, so what should I do? thanks

Mentore1 year agoFirst of all, if your buyer has paid, ship the item sold.
If your card has an iban, is in your name and you have completed the verification correctly, you're all set... but if that message appears, it means something has gone wrong.
In any case, did you read how it works before you started selling?

OP1 year agoOf course I read up and I had checked with eBay and they told me that a prepaid card linked to PayPal was fine, otherwise I wouldn’t have signed up, but then I never sold anything until today and I found myself with this message, which I’ve never heard of in the various eBay pages, and it certainly never occurred to me to worry about a problem whose existence I didn’t know about until now..of course I ship, do you happen to know if I can use the balance to buy?

I wrote card with IBAN... does your card have an IBAN?
Forget the fact that it’s linked to Paypal... what you need is an IBAN... not Paypal!!

OP1 year agoif my card is prepaid with IBAN but precisely without a bank current account, so I'm also wondering: if I did the verification, what do they verify if there's no account? 🙂

Mentore1 year agoThey need to verify that your card can receive foreign bank transfers and that it is enabled for direct debits:

OP1 year agosorry, I'm asking you one more thing..do you know if I'll be able to use the funds that are now blocked until a certain date can I use them to buy even if the data verification doesn't go through? my fear is that I ship but then I can't either transfer or use the balance, so I lose both the package and the money..thanks

Mentore1 year agoThe money from the balance can't be used. They can only be transferred via bank transfer.

Mentore1 year agoImportant that it is a card with an Italian IBAN that allows SEPA direct debits (the direct debit of bills).
Contact customer service and ask whether the connection was successful.

OP1 year agohow do I contact customer service? you know, my doubt is that they verify the bank account, which in fact I don't have—I only have an IBAN prepaid card linked to PayPal, but in the verification they ask me for there's only the bank connection with the relative verification... when I signed up, in fact, they had told me that they accepted prepaid cards without a bank account, but then with this verification I'm stuck
