doesn't allow messages
Although I’ve been on eBay for years, only recently I noticed with at least two sellers that it’s impossible to contact them before purchasing to ask a question, because the contact form says " due to the high volume of messages received, the seller is currently unable to answer your specific question. We suggest you check the listing again to see whether the answer is already present in the seller’s listing"
and I’m not talking about sellers with thousands of sales.
For heaven’s sake, I understand that some people get annoyed by receiving questions. However, I can’t find any option on eBay to disable messages, so it seems to me that their “trick” is to fill their inbox with n messages.
Has this ever happened to you? I should point out that the seller can contact you (and you can reply) once the purchase has been made, but you can’t do it first, even after the purchase.
p.s. as far as I know, eBay fee calculations are based on the total transaction amount (item+s.s.). Even today I still notice far too often nonsensical shipping costs for books. A trick once used to reduce the commissions owed to eBay.

Mentore3 years agoPer evitare fenomeni di spam, c'è un numero massimo giornaliero di messaggi che un acquirente può inviare e che un venditore può ricevere. Questi numeri sono riservati e impostabili solo da ebay.
A una simile domanda, il servizio clienti ebay rispondeva:
Desideriamo informarti che i limiti ai messaggi hanno lo scopo di proteggere gli utenti da email spamming ed email indesiderate.
Il limite è calcolato in base a molti fattori. Per motivi di sicurezza non possiamo comunicare quali sono questi fattori. Tuttavia, per cercare di aumentare il numero di messaggi che sei autorizzato a inviare puoi, ad esempio, accumulare più Feedback man mano che completi le transazioni.
Comunque io non ho mai avuto problemi a contattare un venditore ne prima ne dopo un acquisto.
ps. Il trucco delle spese di spedizione oggi non avrebbe più senso per risparmiare sulle commissioni, ma c'è qualche venditore convito che abbassare il prezzo dell'oggetto (ricaricando la differenza sulle spese di spedizione) aiuti la vendita (psicologia&marketing).

OP3 years agoi misteri degli algoritmi di eBay che secondo me fanno calare le vendite di alcuni venditori dato che se io non posso fare una domanda (sia essa per le caratteristiche di un libro che per chiedere la spedizione combinata) il risultato sarà al 99,99% di cercare altrove a meno che non sia il Sacro Graal

p.s. stessa cosa per le s.sp. . Mi trovo un libro in economica in vendita a 4€ a cui poi aggiunge 6,50€ si spedizione con posta standard (alias piego di libri base) ...
