Debt collection notice - PACKLINK is a scam!
Hello everyone, I’m starting this discussion to let you know about something very serious.
A few days ago I received notifications on my Poste Pay app of attempted charges (luckily I didn’t have any money at the time...) on my account from Packlink.
After various checks on spedizioni.ebay.it, I discover that the invoices are ''extra payments'' for shipments that took place many months ago (October and November).
I contact Ebay support and they tell me to contact Packlink.
After several days, I receive a reply from Packlink and, without specifying the causes of these extra charges, they tell me the following:
Dear customer,
Packlink informs you that, according to our payment records, the invoices indicated below have not been paid within the deadline.
The total amount to be paid is: 52.23 €.
Below we provide the details of each invoice:
I23FSxxxxxxxx → 39.03 €
I23FSxxxxxxxx → 13.20 €
Please make the payment as soon as possible and, in any case, within no more than ten (10) calendar days from the date of receipt of this communication.
From what I can see online, there are many reports on www.altroconsumo.it regarding these Packlink charges/scams.
What should I do now?
Since I won’t be paying these scammers, should I expect debt collection letters?
Has anyone ever had similar problems?
And what if I opened PayPal disputes for moral damages for the payments related to those shipments?
I have already deactivated Auctane Packlink automatic payments from my PayPal account (you should do it right away too).
I should point out that I have always shipped collectible cards and the like; a charge for incorrect weight and measurements is impossible.
I look forward to your info, thanks everyone!

OP3 years agoLAST UPDATE REGARDING PACKLINK'S 4 SCAM INVOICES.
In the end Packlink canceled all my invoices except the first one, since it is more than 60 days old.
FOR EVERYONE WHO WILL READ THIS FORUM, I NOW EXPLAIN HOW TO CANCEL UNFAIR INVOICES.
Contrary to what you read on the web, the photo of the parcel with the measurements is absolutely not necessary.
To cancel the charges, you must attach the link to the eBay listing for the relevant shipment and clearly explain that the measurements they recorded are absolutely wrong.
You must reply to the email in which they state the wrong measurements.
Specify that you are filing a report for extortion.
These Packlink guys are acting in bad faith and would really be risking a lot with a complaint!
Be careful not to let Packlink fool you, good luck to everyone!

OP3 years ago...1 hour ago Packlink also canceled the last invoice older than 60 days.
At the moment all the invoices have been canceled.... there isn't a single one left to pay...
In my opinion, sooner or later Packlink will no longer be present in Ebay's shipping manager, I'm not the only one who has received these inappropriate money requests...
Finally, my experience with Packlink ended today once and for all.
Have a good evening everyone! 🙂

·2 years agoHello, so is it better to wait and not pay the invoice? I mean, no one from collections is going to call?
thanks

OP3 years agoTo confirm what I said before, here I have a third invoice, but declared 0.2 kg and actual weight 7.3 kg.
Packlink will constantly add 7.1 kg to all our shipments, be careful and don't use Packlink!

Mentore3 years agoAside from the fact that Packlink is a broker, it doesn’t ship anything, the weight and measurement indications are provided directly by the courier’s headquarters, at the automated sorting center, so Packlink bills you what the courier communicates.
In the reply I already gave you... too bad you didn’t read it... the scales and measurement detectors are government-approved devices, so they can’t be disputed.
So, unless you’re extremely good at proving they’re wrong, but not to Packlink, to the courier itself, and you don’t want debt collectors coming to your house, it’s better for you to pay and change brokers... probably the account they’re referring to is the ebay one... otherwise update us in 10 days so we can understand which one it was...
Kind regards.

OP3 years agoThanks for the information, I respect your opinion but I see it differently, tI’d like to ask you a quick question.
But if they charge you for 3 invoices for 3 different shipments after several months, and tell you that all 3 shipments had a weight that was exactly 7.1 KG over, wouldn’t you feel taken for a ride?
Are you willing to passively pay and put up with everything they send you without trying to assert your rights?
The scales and detectors can easily be tampered with, and if someone does checks, the people responsible are always found.
If everyone accepts these abuses, things will never change and we’ll keep sinking lower and lower.

Mentore3 years agoTo assert your rights, you have to bring lawyers and the whole lot into it... and the cost will be well above the 53€ you owe Packlink...
If you sell online you have to factor in possible problems... unfortunately you don’t identify yourself with the sales account, so it’s not possible to know your volumes and that makes people think that as a private seller you have a good amount of business... so a few little issues can happen... let’s not always play the victims... it would also be your duty to pay taxes and everything that goes along with being a merchant... if out of 3 shipments you had problems, who knows how many others went fine... and that’s all profit you put in your pocket.
Kind regards.

OP3 years agoActually my sales account has all positive feedback, no problem to hide, maybe later when I log in I'll post directly from there with the articles related to the problem.
The problem is that the earnings from my sales are really low, I'm a private seller who sells to get rid of used collectible cards and toys.
These invoices put me in the red, if I don't assert my rights I'll take a loss.
sika700
Mentore3 years agoYou're a private individual selling used items you already had... so what profit and loss are you talking about?
Loss means that you specifically bought them to resell... if you assert your rights you'll end up even more in the red... and if you wait for debt collection, the entire amount you owe will be increased as well... you owe it anyway, there's no way around it!
So, to avoid ending up buried in debt, think carefully about your situation.
Kind regards.

OP3 years agoThe world is beautiful because we are different; for me, selling one of my old items and then receiving an unjustified invoice from Packlink is a loss.
Adding exactly 7.1 kg to many shipments after 3 months is a blatant extortion attempt!!
Packlink expects the customer not to remember... but if Poste Italiane had really measured a higher weight, why would it report it to Packlink with all this delay?
I make my own assessments; I simply believe it is unfair to pay sums of money that are not owed, I am against extortion in principle.

OP3 years agoBreaking news!
Regarding the other charge, they just informed me that the weight they recorded would be 7.6 kg and not 0.5 kg.
PLEASE NOTE THE WEIGHTS THEY REPORTED:
FIRST SHIPMENT: 7.9 kg versus 0.8 kg declared.
SECOND SHIPMENT: 7.6 kg versus 0.5 kg declared.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE WEIGHT DIFFERENCE IS ALWAYS 7.1 KG, THESE THIEVES HAVE MADE AN ALGORITHM THAT ADDS 7.1 KG TO ALL SHIPMENTS, THEN SENDS THE INVOICES.
LET'S REPORT THESE ABUSES TOGETHER AND MAKE PACKLINK DISAPPEAR FROM EBAY.
PACKLINK, A GANG OF THIEVING, SCAMMING, CHEATING CROOKS...

OP3 years agoIMPORTANT UPDATE
This morning I receive an email from Packlink, where they explain to me that they would have found that the actual weight of the package was 7.9 kg and not 0.8 as I had declared, obviously a false accusation!
I wrote 0.8 kg but in reality my package didn’t even weigh half a kilo, how did they get to 7.9 kg?
If they don’t cancel the invoices, I’ll report them for fraud, do the same too...
...these Packlink guys are nasty thieves!
I have many of these invoices, all unfounded scams, a disgrace!
I will ask for compensation for moral damages!
Anonymous User
OP3 years agoMy packages never exceed 30x30x20 (I almost always ship collectible cards), I’m sure this is either a mistake or Packlink is running some well-planned scams.
From what I’ve always seen while filling out the forms, even if I had used slightly bigger packages, the rates wouldn’t have changed; the problem isn’t a matter of centimeters.
It seems I’m not the only one having these problems:
https://www.altroconsumo.it/reclamare/bacheca-dei-reclami/dettagli-bacheca-dei-reclami?referenceid=CPTIT00792685-01
...among the various vague responses, support told me that if I don’t pay them within 10 days they’ll suspend my account, but I’ve never had a Packlink account.
Anonymous User
OP3 years agoYes, in fact I have another account for sales.
As for the invoices, the real problem is that Packlink has never given me any reason for these ''extra payments'' despite the various reminders.
If they gave me the chance, I could also provide photos of the packages.
There are hundreds of complaints about charges for Packlink all over the web; it seems like a real established scam.
Ebay is really sinking low by entrusting the shipping manager to Packlink... you can’t trust anyone anymore...
sika700
Mentore3 years agoLet’s say that... probably it’s not your case... people try to be a bit sneaky when they report measurements and weights... for a few centimeters or a few grams the rate changes and they try to take advantage of that.
In any case, the photos are useless, the scanners and scales of the various couriers are indisputable, as they are ministerial equipment.
It’s not just Packilink that can’t be trusted... the same thing happened to me with GLS, directly as a subscriber.
Best regards.

Mentore3 years agoGood evening,
with this account you have never sold anything... so it's hard for the person replying to you to try to understand the issue!
Long story short, these are tariff adjustments because you probably declared measurements or weights lower than those that actually showed up at the courier's depot, which are absolutely not disputable.
So, if you don't want debt collection to come knocking at your door, with additional costs, all you have left to do is pay...
Kind regards.
