New Purchase Protection Fee
I think they’re really overdoing it now !!! A buyer who purchases from a private seller has to pay the price of the item + shipping (which has now become prohibitive) + this new levy that eBay passes off as a protection fee (for useless services). The buyer is confused, and the new levy acts as a deterrent to price increases and the buyer doesn’t buy from the private seller.
In my opinion, the previous situation was much better.
As was the established fund...but I prefer that the money from the sale be transferred to my checking account immediately (minus eBay’s percentages) and not that I have to request the transfer of the money every time.
I know that for many the new rules may be useful, but I’m old-school..."you pay me first and then I ship it with the sold-as-seen formula..."
The important thing is to be honest and transparent when promoting listings and, above all, clear and available with buyers.
