New eBay label payment: and what happened to the IT code for complaints?
Hi everyone,
since the system changed and labels are paid for directly with the balance funds on eBay (and no longer through the external Packlink site like before), I’m completely lost with claims for lost parcels.
Before, when paying on Packlink, we immediately had the IT reference code to open refund claims on their portal; now that everything is integrated into the new eBay system, where do you find that code? And if the courier loses the parcel, how do you start a claim without being bounced around by automated support?
The situation I’ve run into is exactly this:
I sell the item, print the label from eBay, and ship it.
The parcel is scanned as normal and enters the courier network, but at some point the courier loses it.
The buyer quite rightly opens a dispute and eBay immediately takes the money from my account to refund them.
Now for the punchline: I go to Packlink to open the loss claim, but the form requires the reference code that starts with IT. Too bad that with this new payment method integrated into eBay, the IT code is no longer provided (there’s only the courier tracking).
Without the IT code, Packlink won’t let me open the ticket. If I try to explain the problem to eBay customer support, they don’t even know what I’m talking about and bounce me around.
Basically: goods lost, money taken from my account, and total impossibility of requesting a refund because of the lack of a code that their own system no longer generates.
Has anyone managed to get this damned IT code or to unlock refunds with the new system? How did you go about it?
Thanks to anyone who replies.
