Offers from sellers for items I'm NOT following

Good morning!
For a few days now I've been receiving offers from sellers for items that I may have searched for and viewed on eBay, but that I haven't added to the items I'm following or anything like that, and I don't understand why.
It's rather annoying and confusing because I may have the same items listed for sale and I get messages like "you've received an offer for item X," but it's not specified whether item 'X' is mine or the one I viewed from another seller, so I have to open the offer, etc.
Is it possible to turn this off?
