Damaged item purchased from a private seller
Good morning, I bought a PlayStation 3 from a private seller and received it within the expected time (even if in absolutely unsuitable packaging), after using it for a few minutes it started not working properly, constantly freezing until it reached the point where I could no longer turn it on. So I contacted the seller, who told me that it was probably a problem caused by me connecting it to the mains or playing on it (which is what the PlayStation was created for). I then suggested having a technician look at it to understand what the problem is (he neither gave me a positive nor a negative answer, he changed the subject), meanwhile I have not opened any dispute. What is best to do in these cases? In the listing (which is no longer available) it said that he does not accept returns.

Mentore3 years agoOpen a return request for item not as described, even if it’s a private seller they can’t refuse to accept it.
Don’t let anyone inspect it, because you’d go from being in the right to being in the wrong, so wait for the seller to arrange pickup or offer you a partial refund, then you can decide.

OP3 years agoUnfortunately, they keep saying that it was my mistake and that I didn't use it correctly, should I continue the conversation or wait for eBay to step in?

Mentore3 years agoIgnore the conversation, it only makes you waste time.
If they don’t accept the return or don’t want to cover the return shipping costs, (after opening the return process) wait three working days.

Mentore3 years agoForget about it and open a return request... if you do nothing, eBay will never be able to intervene:

If they don't cooperate, follow Mario's advice.
