Package stuck in customs in Milan, what should I do?

Hello,
the item I had shipped from the United States and bought through Ebay is stuck at the Milan customs office. The post office says they can't do anything with the tracking number provided for the shipment, the person who sent it to me doesn't have any other numbers, and the Milan customs office tells me I have to contact the post office. It's been stuck in customs since April 3; they are costume jewelry, no particular material value, worth under 100 euros. The shipment was the one with the Ebay wording. What can I do? Thanks, I'm losing my mind over this, the sentimental value was huge.

Postal customs isn't exactly known for its speed, and then there's Easter holidays, long weekends ….
