Fragile item shipped without protection and broken
Good morning everyone. I bought a VERY fragile item from a seller who had a lot of experience, with very positive feedback.
I thought that since it was so fragile, they would have put in adequate protection. Instead, they simply took the item with the original box (super thin cardboard with nothing else inside to protect it) and wrapped it in one of those very thin plastic envelopes, with no padding. They didn’t even write “fragile.” The item was even very heavy, as well as very fragile. Obviously it arrived with broken and crumbled parts, and even its original little box was torn and already opened during shipping. Only a MIRACLE could have saved it, because it was impossible for it to arrive intact!!
I wrote to the seller and asked only for a refund of the amount (I don’t know if such an unusable item can be returned... it would only be to throw it away since it would arrive as dust) but I don’t know if they’ll ever जवाब. In that case, do you know what to do? Has anything like this ever happened to you, receiving an item OBVIOUSLY shipped badly ON PURPOSE so that it would be destroyed? How do you report it to ebay? Thanks.

Mentore3 years agoDon't do anything weird. Open the return and refund request through eBay; it's not up to you to decide whether the item should be returned or not. With the refund, the item goes back to being the seller's property, so it's up to them alone to decide whether to take it back at their own expense or authorize you to throw it away; if you overstep this right of theirs, you commit the crime of embezzlement.
