Item broken after 6 months
Summary: afo62 laments that an item broke down after six months. sika700 responds, but no specific details or solution are provided in the discussion.
I bought a welder in May and in December it "died," despite absolutely occasional use.
I wrote to the seller 3 emails, but I never received a reply.
I can't find a way to report this to e-bay because it only talks about returns (which I can no longer do because the deadline has passed) or items not received (which isn't my case). Faulty items within the normal warranty period (2 years under law 99-44) have no trace of HOW to proceed or WHERE to write.
help ! Thanks

Mentore1 year agoOnly the seller will be able to help you.
If it is an EU professional with a VAT number, you have several ways to contact them.
Kind regards.

OP1 year agoIn the end I managed, through e bay, to contact him. He told me that the product warranty is 6 months. I know that the warranty on consumer goods for non-professional use is 2 years, but he insisted that the product is classified as "new-other", sale between private individuals (?) and that the warranty is 6 months, pointing me to a repair center near me. E-bay, which I contacted, tells me that after 30 days they can no longer do anything.
What can I say, if these are the sellers that e-bay accepts, it's better to buy elsewhere

Mentore1 year agoSo, if you bought a used item from a private seller, you don't have a warranty.
The problem then is not eBay, but being more careful when buying used goods.
Kind regards.
