Non-compliant item returned independently but not refunded
Good morning
I won an auction for a hardware accessory from a seller based in the USA, but in return for a fairly hefty auction expense I received the Chinese copy of that item (so, a different brand, different quality, completely different, and of very little economic value). I contacted the seller and at first he was willing to help, telling me he must have made a mistake uploading the photos and description (sigh) and to send it back to him for a refund, offering to pay my shipping costs. Since I had never done a return on eBay, I went ahead as per his instructions. The seller immediately refunded the shipping costs, but when the package arrived he did not want to proceed with refunding the auction. At that point I opened a report with eBay customer service and in the chat with the agent I explained the situation. A day later I received an email from international customer service sending me the DHL label for the return, saying they would take care of it after that. Too bad I had already sent the package back. Replying to that email (also sending proof photos of the package received and of the return, plus screenshots of the chat) I got no response. When I contacted customer service again in chat, they repeated that they would forward everything to the relevant department. Today I got another email from international customer service and again they tell me I have to return the package with their shipping slip, once again ignoring the fact that the package has already been returned. How can I proceed to resolve this? Thanks to anyone who can give me some advice

Mentore2 years agoGood morning,
you did the classic DIY thing and made a huge mistake.
Long story short, you can't fix it, you should have turned to eBay before making the mistake, not after.
Filing a report for embezzlement would be of no use.
Kind regards.
