Item refused on delivery, refunded but then collected by the courier
Summary: Anonymous User discusses a case involving an item that was refused on delivery, refunded, but later picked up from the courier. marioelegio and pneustar chime in on the thread, sharing experiences or asking for clarification about the situation.
I sold some items shipped by courier, the buyer gives a poste restante address, which refuses delivery. I notify the buyer via Messenger, but they don’t respond, so after 14 days the courier with tracking notifies me of the return to sender. To avoid a possible dispute, I issue a full refund, including the shipping that wasn’t due, but on that same day the package is picked up from the courier. I wanted to leave negative feedback, but I discover that eBay doesn’t allow it. I’m not saying it was a scam, but I’m pointing out the lack of communication, which eBay does not take into account.

·1 year agocustomer because they’re not serious, etc., they definitely did it on purpose. Also,
when they refuse the package after on-time delivery and after I’ve already bought it, I
don’t pay the shipping because in my case it costs quite a lot. If
you ordered and then refuse it, you’re a c…. And so you pay the shipping both ways.
We’re here to work, not to throw money away on these
people! Report it in the feedback so other sellers won’t lose like you
money and product. Regards

OP1 year agoThe amount isn't important, but ebey doesn't allow me to leave negative feedback. I avoided the controversy, but I blocked the buyer, he's not the only one, and he won't be the last. eBay is dodging it as usual

Mentore1 year agoThe allowed pickup points on eBay are BRT fermopoint locations, and they must be specifically chosen by the buyer at checkout. Fermopoint locations accept parcels from any courier, with the only exception of registered letters.
Any other arrangement is entirely at the seller's risk.

You should then have waited for the eBay procedure and for the goods to be returned, before issuing the refund.
You can still tell the buyer that, since they have been refunded, the goods they picked up are not theirs. So they can choose whether to pay for them again or return them to you at your expense. You can also write that, in the absence of a decision from them, you will be forced to file a complaint for misappropriation. Depending on the amount, then see whether it's worth going from a threat to action or not.

OP1 year agoI just avoided a controversy, he doesn't reply to messages and I don't want to contact him by mobile. Anyway, I'll avoid recipients with post office boxes, who maintain anonymity for ulterior motives that are not entirely transparent.
