Hello to all fellow eBayers, I’m telling you about the scam I’m currently dealing with. Basically, the buyer purchased a Parkside performance-line screwdriver from me, listed as new but without any accessories and working. As soon as he received it, he opened a return request claiming the item was broken and missing accessories. I immediately replied that he had read the listing wrong, since it only mentioned the screwdriver without accessories, stressing that it’s impossible for it to be broken because first of all it’s new and I test everything before sending it and take photos for any proof in case some sneaky people claim otherwise. Well, despite all that preamble I wrote to him, he insisted on a return. Last night, as I suspected, a screwdriver of the same model arrived back to me, supposedly the one I sent him, but it’s broken and it’s another one since it has a different serial number. It’s obvious that he had this broken screwdriver at home with the warranty expired, and he pulled off the genius move of trying to scam me by taking advantage of eBay’s rules that protect the buyer. He didn’t think it through. I document everything before sending, with photos and video. I’m waiting to see what eBay decides; if unfortunately they side with the sneaky guy, I’m forced to leave the platform. We sellers should be protected too from so-called scammers.
The one in the photo is the one I sent him, new and working. Too bad I can’t add a photo, otherwise I’d upload the one that was returned, and it turns out the serial number is different. I trust eBay. Watch out for the sneaky ones!!!
