item shipped, refused upon delivery and dispute closed in favor of the buyer
Good morning everyone, I’m reporting something that recently happened to me on Ebay, a platform I have used for buying and selling as a private individual since 2007.
I sold an item that was paid for immediately, (net of Ebay fees).
I shipped it right away to Germany to the correct address indicated in the order and after a few days, upon delivery, it was refused by the buyer and sent back to the sender.
Fortunately, after more than a month the item was returned to my home intact in the same condition in which I had sent it. In the meantime the buyer had opened a dispute for item not received and Ebay ruled in his favor, charging my bank account the total amount he had paid (sale price + shipping costs).
Everyone happy and satisfied? I’d say definitely NO.
1) the buyer was fully refunded.
2) Ebay charged me the fees for a transaction that was in fact canceled.
3) As the seller, I am the only one who lost out since in the end I lost the amount of the fees + the shipping costs that I still had to cover. I ASK you, perhaps you can shed some light on this, but is it possible that the seller is always treated this way? Zero protection.....

Kind regards.
