Item sold with free shipping but buyer asks to pick up in person | Questions and answers among users

Good evening, I sold an item that was duly paid for with free shipping included. However, the buyer is now asking me to let them pick up the item in person since they’re nearby. eBay, though, expects the item to be shipped with tracking, and I have no way to change it to indicate in-person pickup and thus get the code to enter to confirm the buyer’s pickup. Does anyone know what can be done to resolve this without canceling the transaction, issuing a refund, and creating a new listing once it’s been refunded? Thanks.
