Order NOT deliverable due to damaged goods
Hi everyone, I’m a private seller and a beginner....the buyer purchased one of my orders but unfortunately when it came time to ship the goods I found them damaged (due to flooding) and therefore NOT shippable.
I immediately got in touch with the buyer and explained the problem, but the buyer had already completed the payment.
On May 26, Ebay sent me 2 micro credits of €0.02 and €0.07, but to this day I have NEVER received the amount for the order.
To protect the buyer, I thought it was useful to CANCEL the order, notify the buyer, and since I did not receive the payment, I hope that Ebay can cancel the transaction and therefore refund the buyer automatically.
Is my action correct?....because just today I received a communication from Ebay telling me that I have to refund the buyer, but I DO NOT have the buyer’s money!!!....how can I resolve this situation peacefully??

as a new seller, your funds are held for at least 15 days... if, of course, your account verification was successful.
If you want to refund your buyer right away, you need to add an alternative method where eBay can take the funds until they are released... namely a credit card.
Basically, you have to cover the refund out of your own pocket.
