package delivered to others
I ordered some socks, and they were delivered to a man unknown to both me and the pickup point. I lost at least 20 hours: phone calls, emails, address searches, checking the pickup points in my area, which I went to personally, etc. How is it possible that the courier delivers a package to a stranger? By mistake? I don't know.
for sure, the system has some flaws. if they bring the package to my house, I have to wait for them and I can't go to work. if I'm home (I live in a big apartment building), I go downstairs to get the package, they ask me my name, I say "it's me" and they give me the package. but if I'm not the one picking it up and another person picks it up and says "yes, it's me"? A code that the customer gives the courier, which they send to ebay, and then ebay gives confirmation in real time would be enough, and only after verification the package is delivered.
or at the pickup point, as happened to me: just check the correspondence between the packages shipped and the packages delivered? it's true, the procedure costs a bit, but what benefits it brings, especially security and customer satisfaction. the way things are now seems like chaos and a lack of professionalism to me.
anyway, for now, I'm not placing any more orders, what's the point, if the package doesn't arrive, to waste all that time and end up disappointed too. if ebay refunds, fine, but who refunds me for the wasted time and the disappointment?

Mentore3 years agoTo collect a package at the pickup point (the collection point) you need a code that should have arrived via SMS. When you went to pick up the package (and the package had disappeared), didn’t they have you file a claim?
To collect the package you need:
If the package made it to the pickup point, I don’t think eBay or the seller will refund you. The mess was made at the pickup point, they’ll have to refund you themselves.

OP3 years agoAt the pickup point they are very strict and meticulous, I’ve known them for years, their shop is 100 meters from my house. I’ve picked up dozens of packages from them, they know me well, and yet if I forget the code or the ID they won’t give me the package. the gentleman who picked up the package has never entered the pickup point and the package has never entered there either. I’ve been to the pickup point several times, we checked together, the package never arrived there. of course, it may be that the pickup point staff took it, but so far for hundreds of packages that pass through there (mine and those of my friends and acquaintances) this has never happened. one important thing still remains to be explained: how does a package disappear? and how is it that, at a certain point in the route, the package is delivered to a certain gentleman (who of course appears with first name, last name, city, but whose personal details I won’t report) who is in no way the recipient of the package. lastly I point out that at the pickup point there is no one who has the name of the person who picked up the package.
In short, the system has flaws that we see often. I’m writing this because, in my opinion, the procedures can be improved. This, apart from my missing package, which is a small thing. more important are the trust in transactions, the company’s good name, customer satisfaction, a society founded on honesty and respect for others....all things that in the end also increase revenue.

Mentore3 years agoIf the courier certifies that the package was delivered to the pickup point and then disappeared from there ................ they are not that thorough and scrupulous. In any case, they have insurance and they should have immediately opened a claim for you.
If, on the other hand, the seller made a mistake entering the address or the courier made a mistake, that’s a different story. For safety, ask the seller for a copy of their shipping receipt and check the address.
If the address is correct and the pickup point made the mistake...... From the FAQs on the Fermopoint website:
