Package from the USA is being returned to sender
Hello everyone, I bought an item from the USA. As usual, it was first shipped with USPS, then DHL ecommerce solution up to Germany, and finally, once it arrived in Italy, it was handled by Poste Italiane. The problem is that the parcel showed as out for delivery on 30/06 at 13:00, and at 17:00 on the same day it showed as being returned to sender due to an unknown address. (Obviously I was at home, no one rang the bell/called. And there is a label both on the intercom and in the mailbox). On the DHL site, the same tracking instead said “a new delivery attempt will be made on the next working day”.
Unfortunately, though, I can see from Poste that it went back to Fiumicino, so it’s likely it will really be sent back to the sender.
I contacted the seller and the address provided is correct. I contacted Poste, who told me that the return to sender cannot be blocked and, since the recipient is unknown, they could not hold it in storage. I have now opened a ticket with DHL. What can I do? Do I absolutely have to wait for it to be sent back to the sender?
