Lost package return
Good morning,
I shipped an item to a buyer who, a few minutes after receiving it, reported it as defective. Once I accepted the return, I provided him with a shipping label purchased through eBay as per procedure. He shipped the package about 8 days ago, but the tracking has been stuck at the point when he shipped it and, logically, I have not received it. If the package were to get lost, how does the procedure work? eBay says to issue a refund by a certain date, but logically I would not want to issue a refund until I have the package in hand. If the package had been lost, can eBay refund the buyer directly from my account?
Can anyone who has had a similar situation help me?
Thank you very much.

Mentore1 year ago.......... The situation is really unusual and it will be interesting to follow how the matter develops.
The party responsible for the shipping would be the one who buys it, and in this case unfortunately it was you who bought it and filled out the return label. It would have been different if the buyer had gone to the post office and mailed the package, filling out the label himself.

Mentore1 year agoIn theory yes... but if you as the seller are responsible when the package gets lost, in this case the buyer should be responsible for the missed delivery.
It all depends on how support sees it...
If you want, keep us updated.
Best regards.
