Package shipped from the UK to Italy
Good morning. I’m aware that this isn’t really the right platform to express my concern, but I think the principle is the same on any platform.
I bought a Mega box on Groupon at a very convenient price compared to the list price. But after the purchase I realized that the package is shipped from England with Royal Mail courier, so I went to various websites to check whether the package would be subject to customs duties. Fortunately, after various searches, I found that my package should not be subject to customs duties, but only VAT, as for higher values, I don’t know how much now, customs duty will be applied to the package (not my case). I ran simulations on various sites to check, and, as far as I can tell, it should not exceed €40/50. Now I don’t know whether the value, VAT or customs duties (I think there shouldn’t be any) will be calculated on the list price, or on the discounted price. Then I would also like to know, do I have to pay the costs in advance, or will the courier advance them for me, and then reimburse the costs when the local courier arrives at my home? Has anyone, maybe on eBay, had a similar experience? Thanks a lot. PS: sorry if "user support" isn’t really the best fit, but I didn’t know what to put.
