Incoming card payments with IBAN
Summary: The discussion among pljmusic, sika700, and marioelegio revolves around the topic of incoming card payments with IBAN. Despite multiple responses, the posts do not contain any explicit content, leaving the details of their conversation unclear.
Hello.
1. I don’t have a checking account and I don’t want to open one.
2. I have a prepaid card with an IBAN and I can receive bank transfers but I can’t send them.
3. No document (bank statement) can be issued to me from which the data requested by Ebay can be seen.
4. For the reasons above, my method is not accepted, I’ve tried and tried again in every way and I’ve spoken with all the phone operators in the Balkans but they could do nothing more than tell me "figure it out", communicating with Ebay by email is now impossible (and it’s a mistake to deprive support of email, it’s a method that allows more time to express oneself better, gather the right information and respond appropriately)
Is there an alternative or after 12 years do I have to leave the Ebay platform?
(I don’t understand why, for some time now, it has to be so complicated to get paid on Ebay, when on other platforms I have no problems, and when if we could use Paypal we would still be the ones paying the damn fees).
Thank you
marioelegio
Mentore1 year agoThe inability to make payments (SEPA debits) makes your account extremely risky for the platform. They risk having disputes from PayPal or credit cards without the possibility of direct recourse, and so they will never be able to trust you.

OP1 year agoUntil a month ago I regularly received payments from sales on eBay with the exact same card with IBAN. The card then expired and once I received the new one I needed to replace it on eBay too. I repeat, the exact same card, but it keeps rejecting it. I need to receive payments, and I can receive SEPA transfers; in fact, I currently receive them from all the other sales and payment platforms, such as Sumup, Amazon, etc.

Mentore1 year agoProbably the others rely more on debt collection agencies in the event of disputes.
Ebay requires the use of a current account (or a card with an IBAN) where the option for SEPA direct debit is enabled (automatic outgoing transfers at the request of the authorized beneficiary, basically direct debit for bills).

OP1 year agoI really appreciate the kind response.

OP1 year agoI think you're right, among all the excuses that Ebay support came up with, they "forgot" the one real reason for refusing to use my payment collection method. They have always given me unconvincing reasons about safeguarding my interests in receiving payments, but in fact it's about protecting their interests.
In the meantime I closed all the listings since I had no alternatives, I'll keep selling on other platforms.
Thanks again.
