Incorrect shipping costs payment
Good morning, on 2/7 the seller sent me the invoice with $9 shipping costs. By mistake I made the payment from the cart where there are no combined shipping options.
I paid $109 in shipping costs, considering that this is a seller I buy from quite often. who knows what I was thinking. I wrote to the seller right away (no response). I called eBay (they suggested I write to the seller). If the seller does not acknowledge my mistake and refund me, what actions can I take through eBay?

Mentore2 years agoUnfortunately, none.
Only the seller, if they want to do it, can cancel the purchase and refund you.
A partial refund with a single shipment would put them at risk, so cancellation would be the simplest solution for everyone, then a new purchase can be made correctly.

OP2 years agoThanks, but I don’t understand why a partial refund would be a risk for the seller. I paid 117, I owe 9, they refund me 108. Am I making it too simple? Am I missing something? Anyway, I’ll follow your advice and ask for the order to be cancelled. I still want to write to eBay to hear their "official" version. Thanks for the advice.

Mentore2 years agoIf you paid 109 euros in shipping, there must have been many individual shipments planned, each with its own code.
If he gives you a partial refund and uses a single shipment, you could open n disputes, for item not received, and he could respond with the code for just one shipment, losing the remaining n-1 disputes.
For this reason it’s a risk I would avoid, if I were the seller.

OP2 years agoThanks Mario, I hadn't thought about the possibility of a dispute and you are absolutely right. Ebay does not intervene at all on an amount paid incorrectly for shipping costs. Anyway, I contacted the seller, who made the refund, and the matter ended positively. Thanks for the advice.
