PayPal payment via app and in-person pickup
Hello, I bought an item on the eBay app, paid with PayPal, but the seller had entered not shipping but only local pickup. Now eBay gave me a code to show the seller when I pick up the item to confirm receipt. My question is: if the seller doesn’t scan the code, do they not receive the payment made earlier on eBay, or do they?

Mentore2 years agoWhen local pickup is scheduled, only by scanning that code can the seller prove that they have delivered the goods.
On eBay, payments are not tied to the delivery of the goods, but they can be suspended or revoked in the event that a dispute is opened for item not received or item not as described.

OP2 years agoI paid on eBay with PayPal, the payment went through, after which eBay sent me a code, but the seller says they still haven’t received the PayPal payment (but on the PayPal app and on eBay the payment shows up), so I thought that after scanning the code the payment would be released, kind of like what Buy It Now does, just to be clear (in a different way, but it’s the same thing). Do you think I should wait until tomorrow? I made the payment yesterday, maybe it’ll reach him today? It seems strange to me because with PayPal the money arrives right away.

Mentore2 years agoThe payment made with PayPal goes to ebay.
For new sellers or those who don’t sell often, ebay holds payments for at least 15 days, regardless of the delivery outcome.
