Paid with Postepay inside eBay, but the seller says that the amount isn't credited to their account
hi everyone,
this morning I bought a pair of adidas here on ebay. I admit it’s the first time I’ve done it so I’m not too experienced and mea culpa I didn’t check the seller’s feedback (which is 0). that said, I pay by entering my card details through ebay’s payment method and shortly after I get a message from the seller telling me that "my account is registered to a company and that’s why the money isn’t reaching her. she also tells me to contact ebay and sort this out because she’s trying to refund me but can’t". obviously my card isn’t registered to any company and I strongly think this is a scam, does anyone have advice on how I should act to get my money back?

Probably the seller is "new", so ebay withholds payment from them for at least 15 days, as per the rules.
In any case, they should ship the item; otherwise they will never see the money.
They could also cancel the transaction; in this case the refund is immediate, but it will still come from their funds, which ebay will advance and then charge back to them.

another question: now the seller has issued me the refund. at this point do I still need to wait to see the money credited back to my account, or is the credit back instant?

Mentore2 years agoIn the same link that Cizeta sent you, you would also have found this:
"Your refund will be sent to your original payment method and the funds will usually be available within 3-5 business days. If the refund is sent to your credit card, depending on the issuing bank, it may take up to 30 days before it appears on your statement."

For the refund, you first need to receive the confirmation email from eBay, then it will take a few days to see it credited back to where it came from (card, bank account, etc.)
