Switching to a professional seller
Hello, I apologize for the length of the message. I’ll try to be brief. In August I opened a VAT number under the flat-rate tax regime. I sell both online and with a physical store. I registered the VAT number on eBay, but the request was rejected. After contacting customer service, they explained to me that since it is not registered with VIES, they cannot accept it. So I spoke with my accountant, who however told me that as a flat-rate taxpayer, VIES is not предусмотрed. I, in this limbo, of which I am very, very ignorant, to avoid problems in terms of tax evasion, include the fiscal receipt in any package that leaves.
But I am not convinced that being listed as a private seller, even if I issue a receipt, is correct from a legal point of view.
I hope I have explained myself.
Can someone who knows about this tell me how I should proceed? Should I change accountants?
Thank you very much.

Mentore1 year agoGood evening,
all VAT numbers can be registered with Vies... I also started with the flat-rate scheme and I was regularly registered.
You can do it entirely on your own if you are authorized for Fisconline or Entratel, or your accountant can do it too by sending a request electronically to the Revenue Agency... so I recommend changing them!
It's a different matter with eBay as far as rates with or without VAT are concerned.
If you don't register your VAT number on eBay, you are treated as a private individual, meaning VAT is charged to you as well; if you register it, the rates are VAT-free and you will therefore have to pay it through the Intrastat form.
So yes, change accountants!
Kind regards.

Mentore1 year agoeBay is right. Even if you're under the flat-rate regime, eBay is an EU intra-community service provider for you and, in the absence of a VIES number, it has to treat you as a private individual.
Italian law requires you to include your VAT number in all listings and to declare that you are a professional, so private status is incompatible with your situation.
Have your accountant read this…. https://quickfisco.it/blog/intrastat-iscrizione-vies-forfettari/

OP1 year agoThanks for the response... I’d say the solution is to change accountants... because it’s fine if I’m ignorant on the matter... but him, no!!!
