Switching from a private account to a professional one, do I pay a listing fee for the items already posted?
Good afternoon, I wanted to ask for some information, if I were to switch from a private account to a professional one
Would I have to pay the insertion fees for the items I had already listed when I was still a private seller? Thanks

OP1 year agoThey have an accountant and the invoices have been sent, so I think the situation is okay or at least it's being looked into, thanks for the reply, bye!

Mentore1 year agoThem who... excuse me?
If the holder of the business account is a company, they have nothing to fear.
If the account holder is a private individual and operates as a business, it is the holder who will pay the consequences.
So, if you want to switch to a business account, speak with an accountant...
Have a good evening.

OP1 year agoGood afternoon Mr. Sika, let me explain better: I was hired at this workplace as a sales assistant,
Then they asked me if I was familiar with eBay. They are a company that sells computer parts with a regular VAT number and everything in order, so they gave me this private eBay account (they didn't even know how it worked themselves, the account had been created a long time ago), but it has the company's name and is registered to the owner with tax code and everything. I have my own eBay account and I know how it works, but I was completely unaware of the concept of VAT number, professional seller, etc. A few days ago, seeing how many items I had sold, I came across DAC7 and read about it, and worried, I wrote here. I have not yet received any tax questionnaire or tax transparency report. We have exceeded the number of items sold, but not the €2000 limit. I repeat, they are a legitimate company, the mistake was mine

OP1 year agoIn a nutshell, the intention was always to sell as a business; we didn’t want to do
Anything illegal or abusive, in fact every month I sent the invoices to their accountant
And everything seemed fine, until at a certain point I looked into the possibility of becoming a professional seller (since we had very poor sales, thinking it would help) and I came across DAC7, I read everything and I got scared

OP1 year agoThanks a lot for the kind reply, while I’m at it, I also wanted to ask you another question. Over the past few weeks I managed the eBay account of a wholesaler of computer equipment, all material purchased with VAT paid and of course invoiced, but on eBay sold as a private account. I’m not an expert and only now have I discovered the DAC7 regulations. I’ve gone over the threshold of 30 items, but not the two thousand euros in revenue. Does that wholesaler risk a fine even if the goods are declared?

Mentore1 year agoEbay will communicate the account holder's data... then it will be up to the Revenue Agency to decide what to do.
Kind regards.

OP1 year agoThanks again for the prompt response, may I ask you to be more thorough? I mean
Will it be checked whether the VAT on the goods has been paid? I don't quite understand

Mentore1 year agoThe purchased material, VAT included, is intended exclusively for personal use.
If, on the other hand, this material is bought with the aim of reselling it to make a margin, and especially if this is done continuously and in an organized way.... then it fully falls under the definition of trade (in used goods under the VAT margin scheme).
If this is done as a private individual, without a VAT number, etc... then it fully falls under the definition of an unauthorized seller.
The wholesaler as a company does not risk anything; all responsibility falls on the person (the private individual) in whose name the account is registered.

OP1 year agoThank you, is there a way to possibly pay the fine in advance now that I've realized it? Is there a procedure to follow or something like that?

Mentore1 year agoYou need to talk to an accountant

OP1 year agoThank you for the reply, I saw in that account that no document has yet been generated in the tax transparency section, theoretically they should have already sent the form to fill out since it has to be sent by December 31 (if I read correctly), if I deleted:closed the account I read that my data would not be sent, is that correct?
marioelegio
Mentore1 year agoThat would be too easy, if evading the tax authorities were as simple as closing the account before December 31.

OP1 year agoUnfortunately I really don’t understand it very much, they put this account in front of me and not knowing about the dac, now that I’m finding out about it I’m getting worried, but seeing the sales reports I saw that VAT is deducted from the sale, doesn’t that mean that the tax authorities haven’t been evaded and that everything is okay? I’m attaching a screenshot, sorry for my ignorance, but I’m 18 years old and new to this whole scene

Mentore1 year agoGood afternoon,
if you don't have a store, when the currently active listings are renewed you will pay the listing fee.
Kind regards.

OP1 year agoHello, good afternoon! I didn't quite understand, so if I were to switch to a professional account and I have ads
Active, would I then pay the insertion fee for those already present? If that were the case, if I were to close them, would I pay the fee?
sika700
Mentore1 year agoHello,
if you currently have active listings, since they are in Buy It Now format they will have a renewal date... right?
Well, if you switch to professional now, at the next renewal of the listings you will pay the fee... you don't pay it now just because you have active listings!
If you close them, you don't pay anything.
I hope that's clearer.
