Fear that the seller will refuse the refund
Summary: giori_64 expressed concern that a seller might refuse a refund. marioelegio replied, but the discussion contains no further details.
Hi everyone,
I’m writing to share my experience and ask for an opinion or some advice.
I bought a Blu-ray box set of Dragon Ball Kai on eBay, paid almost 1000 euros for it, which was supposed to be a collector’s edition. Once I received it, I found out that the audio track is different from the one found in the official editions, probably because it’s a reprint, and this heavily affects the value and authenticity of the product.
I contacted the seller asking for a partial refund or the possibility of returning it, but they replied saying they do not accept returns. Luckily, I was still able to request a return through eBay and got a return ID with a label to ship the package.
My fear now is that, once the box set is received back, the seller will try to find an excuse not to refund me – for example by saying I opened the box set (obviously I had to open it to check the audio!) or that it’s no longer “sealed”.
I’m asking those who have been through similar situations:
🟡 Does eBay still protect the customer in these cases?
🟡 What can I do to protect myself further?
🟡 Should I document everything with photos/videos before shipping the return?
Thanks in advance to anyone who replies, any advice is welcome. 🙏

Mentore1 year agoIt depends a lot on which reason you selected when you requested the return through eBay.
