I bought a Pentax 18-55 SMC DA series lens, green ring. The seller sends me an even cheaper and older series. The gray-ringed one. I write to him to point out the mistake and he replies that it isn't a mistake. They couldn't find the one listed and they voluntarily shipped me that one. I start the return process and had to contact eBay twice because they didn't send me the return label. Don't you think this is an illegal practice? On top of tying up my money, they force me to go through the hassle of repacking everything, going to the post office, and waiting for the refund.

Mentore1 year agoIf you follow eBay's procedure and report that the item received doesn't match the description and the photos posted in the listing, it will be the seller who has to go through the hassle of getting you a prepaid return label.
You pack it up (put the tape back on the packaging it came in) and send it back.

OP1 year agoAnd this happened…. But imagine that instead of €50, you paid €500. If everything goes well, by the time the item arrives, you realize it’s not the one you bought, you try to communicate with the seller who will try to make their case…. So you ask eBay for help, they issue the refund label, you take it to the post office as quickly as possible and it goes back to the sender, who has to issue the refund….. 20 days have passed. If you’re lucky…
