why if I receive a different item from a seller, should the return be at my expense

Why if I receive an item different from the one I bought, should the return shipping be my responsibility? this really bothers me, because if the seller didn’t have the item in stock, they should have warned me or refunded my money, instead of randomly sending whatever they had in the warehouse, I call this unfairness toward the buyer, damn it. eBay needs to step in ..

EBay stepped in years ago, it’s you who don’t know its rules.

If you receive an item that doesn’t match the description or the listing photos, the item is not as described.
