Book folds: avoid controversy.
Good morning, I am in the process of scaling up my selling operation.
I have sold many books but I have never sold anything at a price below €9 because the profit would be too low, or even nonexistent, after shipping and fees.
I have never used ordinary book mail since it is not trackable.
Today I noticed that it is possible to add return receipt, for the cost of €1, to book mail.
If a buyer were to open a dispute with eBay, would I be able to prove shipment using this service and maybe adding a photo to provide proof of the shipment made?

the proof of delivery notice for €1 is an option reserved for Piego di Libri with Registered Mail Service and not for ordinary mail.
So no, if a buyer opens a claim with you for an item not received that was shipped with ordinary Piego di Libri, all you can do is refund directly because you will have no way to prove delivery... and the photo of the shipping proof is of no use at all.

Mentore2 years agoMany professional sellers (all those who sell items worth just a few euros) use untracked shipping, factor in a percentage of loss due to disputes, even bogus ones, and make up for it precisely with an increase in sales volume.
It’s up to you to decide whether to take the risk or play it safe.

OP2 years agoIn a nutshell, if the money I lose because of disputes is less than the additional money I make thanks to cheaper shipping, then it's worth it.
