Possible refund request
Good morning, I bought from the seller Abcreshop a display as a replacement part for a smartphone, I install it and everything is fine, but I can tell right away that the part doesn't work properly (basically it heats up a lot, which is pretty unusual). I ask the seller to send me proof that the part is original (since I paid 130 euros for it), and after two days of back and forth he sends me a half-blacked-out invoice. I reply that practically nothing can be seen and leave it at that. This problem could create another one for me, because since the display in question gets very hot, I may also need to replace the battery soon, since it lasts me half as long as before I changed it.
Now I'd like to understand whether eBay protects me in these cases, even partially.
P.S. I don't know if it's relevant, but after I raised this complaint the seller lowered the price from 139 to 109, maybe it's a coincidence?!
Thanks

Mentore2 years agoPutting aside the "randomness", if you buy a replacement display, install it yourself and remove the protective film, it can’t be returned... for these jobs it’s always better to rely on "professionals" who can also provide you with at least a minimum guarantee.
Kind regards.

OP2 years agoWhat kind of answer is that, excuse me?! I mean, if you sell spare parts, you have to make sure they work, if the display in question has issues, how am I supposed to know? Because it works and everything. Meh, maybe you don’t know how to give buyers any guarantee.

Mentore2 years agoWho told you the display is the one having problems?
Displays, before being put on the market, are tested in the factory.
The listing also says: "The products are tested before shipment, but we are aware that anything could happen during transport, so we ask you to test the product by connecting only the flex cable without removing any film or applying glue. The presence of glue or the removal of the film results in the loss of any warranty or the right to return/replacement."
Kind regards.

OP2 years agoI can tell because I've changed several, and especially from what I read across various forums.
What someone writes in a sales description may not mean much to me.
I understand that you want to support the sellers, but I don't think it's very fair to put all the blame on the buyer
Who says the buyer is the problem?
Kind regards

Mentore2 years agoAnd who says the seller is the problem?
If you've changed several after reading on the forum, that doesn't mean anything...
Kind regards to you.
