Can I end an auction with only one bidder to create a Buy It Now listing?
Summary: mfvintage2507 asks whether it’s possible to end an auction with only one bidder in order to create a 'Buy It Now' listing. There are no replies to this question, so no further details or advice were provided.
Good morning,
I have a listing in auction format with about 4 days remaining.
A buyer had sent me a purchase offer, but later also placed a bid on the auction (at a lower price than the offer). At that point, the offer was automatically canceled by eBay.
Currently this buyer is the only bidder and has contacted me saying that he would be interested in buying the item immediately at the price he originally offered.
I would like to know whether, in the current situation:
-can I end the auction early;
-can I cancel the existing bid or have the buyer withdraw it;
-can I subsequently create a "Buy It Now" listing to allow him to purchase it immediately;
-are there any limitations, penalties, or eBay rule violations in this situation.
Thanks in advance for any clarification.
