Issues with a buyer
Good evening everyone,
I recently started selling some items on ebay and so far I’ve received positive feedback until I sold a used mobile phone to a buyer who I later found out was a Chinese shop that repairs mobile phones.
The listing clearly described the issues the phone had, which in any case was fully working but had a stain on the display that I couldn’t really make out in photos, but for the sake of honesty I had mentioned it in the condition description.
The buyer disputed the presence of various stains on the display; in the dispute they attached two photos where you can see the display is partly detached, but that is not the case in my photos, and they also claim that the phone doesn’t charge properly (it was the phone my wife had been using until a week ago) and that liquid had gotten under the display and there was dust.
I wonder how they can say something like that without taking the display apart, but they say they didn’t do that, even though in my opinion they tried to take the phone apart and damaged it, and now want to pin the responsibility on me, otherwise I can’t explain how they could make such claims.
I reported the buyer’s behavior to ebay, but can any of you with more experience tell me how these cases are handled?
Thanks everyone.

Mentore3 years agoIf the buyer is "experienced" and doesn't make procedural mistakes (e.g. stating in a message that he opened the phones), it's hard to get out of it without damage.
Try offering a partial refund; if he doesn't accept, take the phone back at your expense.
bye

OP3 years agoHello.
I resolved it with eBay, which considered my arguments valid and removed the feedback. In addition, the buyer kept the phone and canceled their return request.
