ISSUES AND DILEMMAS ABOUT VAT, OSS REGIME, FLAT-RATE REGIME EBAY SALES
Summary: A discussion was opened by bestever101 regarding issues and dilemmas related to VAT, the OSS scheme, and the flat-rate tax regime for sales on eBay. pneustar replied, but no further details were provided in the conversation.
I am a professional seller and I am already registered with my VAT number on Ebay.
I need to join the European centralized OSS system for VAT reporting because I will most likely exceed 10,000 euros per year.
I wanted to know whether:
- Do I need to change my sale prices by adding VAT, or will Ebay itself add the correct VAT depending on the country of residence and charge it to my European customers (not Italian, I live in Italy) at the time of payment? For example, if the price of one of my products for sale is 100 and I will sell this item in Italy, do I need to add 22% to the item price myself, or will Ebay take care of it automatically and charge the VAT to the customer? I am under the flat-rate tax regime, so in Italy I do not have to pay any VAT. If instead I sell abroad, how does it work with VAT?
- In the case of a sale of mine to an Italian person, does the VAT also have to be paid by the Italian buyer, since I am resident in Italy, or not? I am resident in Italy and operate under the flat-rate tax regime.
- Will the VAT paid by my customers be automatically paid by Ebay to the tax authorities, or will I have to pay it myself independently?
- Do I need to register for OSS on my own, or is that something Ebay does automatically?

·1 year agodownside is that the company that asks you for the invoice won't be able to deduct it,
abroad under 10k in turnover you don't have to declare VAT, after 10k you do
, eBay doesn't add VAT, it will send you a summary every month that you take to the
accountant and he'll know, I hope I've been helpful for what little
I understand about it, Regards
