Return procedure after dispute
Hello, after receiving an unsuitable item I purchased, I immediately started a return process that ended up in a dispute. After documenting everything, eBay closed the matter within minutes and issued a refund in my favor. So far so good, but after a while I started receiving an endless series of phone calls, SMS messages, and WhatsApp messages from the seller. My questions are therefore 2:
- is it normal for the seller to have my phone number and contact me? Should they contact me through eBay messaging or not?
- I have to return the item, shouldn’t I receive a return label generated by the system by email? The seller is asking me to "ship the item by tomorrow". It all seems a bit surreal to me.
I’m asking for help on how to move forward while following the proper procedures.
Thank you

Mentore2 years agoHello,
it all depends on the phrase "not suitable": for what reason?
Was it not as described or did you just not like it?
If it’s the first reason, the shipping label is the seller’s responsibility, so tell them you will keep the item at their disposal for, for example, 15 days, and if they do not arrange to collect it at their own expense, then you will dispose of it... if instead it’s for the second reason, you have to send it back at your own expense.
Kind regards.
