purchase offer in online auction

Hi everyone, I looked for similar questions before writing but didn’t find any:

I would like to buy an item sold by a private seller in an online auction format,

initially there was the option to make a purchase offer but now it has disappeared, why? Is it because bids have been placed in the meantime?

in any case I contacted the seller for info and informally sent my offer..he would accept it but I can’t send it “formally” is there a way to end the auction early or anyway accept my offer or would that be improper behavior?

Good morning,

you wrote correctly, the “make an offer” button in the auction is present until the first bid.

Properly, the seller can no longer do anything, otherwise you can take part in the auction and try to win it.

Alternatively, “improperly”, the seller could close the auction by canceling all the bids and create a listing dedicated to you... but be careful that others might buy it too...
