Proposal and counterproposal.
Hello everyone. I need to understand exactly how offers and counteroffers work regarding the sale and purchase of an item. In particular, I was (as a customer) negotiating for an item for sale with the option to make a purchase offer, and I had sent in an offer for a lower price. The seller makes me a counteroffer, slightly increasing the amount of my offer, and while I was making my decision the item in question (comic book) was sold. I don't want to start any arguments with anyone, but I want to understand whether, in the future, negotiating the price of a good through the seller's offers and counteroffers 'freezes' the item from a possible sale to third parties. Since it is clearly written in the offers and counteroffers that the duration is 48 hours, I ask myself and I ask you whether it is "normal" for the seller, while negotiating with a potential customer, to be able to sell the same item to third parties.

Mentore2 years agoObviously yes... the offer is valid for 48 hours if the item isn't sold before then.
It's not possible to block the item for 48 hours so you can think about it... that's normal, that's how it is; the "game" (let's call it that, though ebay is not a game!) lies in the fact that you negotiate quickly.
