Trying to open an eBay store is a nightmare
I'm trying to open a new eBay store. I have a newly registered account. I assigned a debit card as the payment method to the account ok. However, when I try to open a store, the system says I'm not eligible to open a store because no payment method has been assigned. Can someone tell me what's going on here? - I've tried to make sense of this situation. I'm stuck.

Mentore1 year agoThe payment method that eBay requires to open a shop is the method with which eBay will pay your earnings... that is, a bank account or card with an IBAN.
The payment method you entered is only for buying, NOT for selling!
But it would be better if you take some time to read up carefully on how eBay works!

OP1 year agoThank you for the response. It is much appreciated. I find the process of creating an eBay store very unclear. I haven't found instructions on how to provide a bank account that eBay can use to withdraw the fees for a store subscription. Surely my credit card can be used to pay or receive funds?! This should be a very simple process. I created a store for someone in just a few minutes using the eBay UK site: why are things so difficult on Italian eBay?

Mentore1 year agoProbably that “someone” already had their account updated!
I also replied to you earlier: to receive payments from ebay YOU MUST enter a valid IBAN in your name, whether it’s a bank account or a rechargeable card.
The process is very clear if you read how it works and if your account is updated... sure... if something is missing and you don’t look into it, then obviously it’s not very clear.
