Pickup point that refuses standard and registered book mail
Good morning everyone,
a pickup point, selected from those proposed by Ebay to receive orders placed, refused to accept a book parcel and a registered book parcel (with tracking number). Poste Italiane, responsible for the shipment, upon my report “verified” that that point does not accept “mail” but only parcels, telling me that in my area only one accepts both parcels and mail even though there are many others present that, according to them, do not do so; it seems crazy to me and above all that they told me a “nonsense” since with others, always in my area, I have never had any problems. At this point choosing the pickup point on Ebay is a lottery.......

Mentore2 years agoPickup points should not be able to accept registered mail.
The reason is obvious: to collect a registered letter, you need the recipient's authorization. Anyone who says otherwise is telling you a "nonsense"; it's also clearly written on the BRT website regarding their fermopoint:
Can I have a registered letter delivered to you?
No, because it requires an authorization for pickup. Also be careful of those Merchants who may use Poste Italiane for their shipments, because the delivery takes place via registered mail, which is not picked up.
For ordinary book mail, there shouldn't be any problems. Important to include the 8-digit ECP code generated by ebay at the time of payment along with the address.
NOME acquirente - COGNOME acquirente - c/o address of the fermopoint - ECP code generated by ebay

OP2 years agoEven though the photo is blurry and you can't read it well, it seems to me that the eCP code was written on the package.....

Mentore2 years agoIt’s a registered book-rate parcel; there’s the R with the barcode.

OP2 years agoOkay, I give up..... now at the same point (unfortunately before this mess happened) I'm waiting for a book parcel not registered let's see if they refuse this one too......

Mentore2 years agoThere is no madness or nonsense... the Fermo Point that accepts such types of shipment is anomalous, according to the conditions listed on BRT's website, Fermo Points do NOT accept either untracked shipments or registered ones, because delivery must be delegated to them.
Best regards.

OP2 years agoThe shipment was handled by Poste Italiane and not BRT and anyway a little over a month ago I made a purchase with free shipping sent by Poste Italiane, without a tracking code, shipping type Posta 4 piccolo standard (on the package it said "piego di libri") and picked up at a collection point listed by Ebay and I had no problems at all!

Mentore2 years agoFermopoint are a network of pickup points managed by BRT; Poste is just the courier that may eventually deliver to that point.
